Kameleon Festival is about encouraging the artistic yield of artistes in the orbit of Theatre, Films, and Arts & Culture. In 2010, Kameleon begun as a theatre festival, where contemporary theatre and native art forms shared the space equally by having a delicate conversation between them. Art forms were presented to engage people in Mass and also to enable intimate experience. In 2011, with the same gusto, Kameleon went on for its 2nd edition carrying the thoughts “Art is for People” and it needs a space for it to constantly evolve along with people. The festival was officially inaugurated by the esteemed presence of Governor with a theatre performance at the garden of French Consulate. After a gap of three years, Kameleon Festival is back. The 3rd edition is dedicated for the Independent Film Makers, to celebrate aspiring young Independent Film Makers and to create a space for new thoughts on Film making.
Pondicherry by its own history have the possibility of incarnate the artistic and cultural aspect of Indian heritage and at the same time generates a dynamic space for contemporary art practitioner to "Explore and Exhibit" their artistic vision. This city can realize and take on a certain need or aspiration of a country and it consists of more and more youngsters wanting to tell stories especially through the medium of cinema. The younger generation of film makers wants to take this from its roots and make it their own. Pondicherry has a very strong connection with France which is known as the alternative cinema capital of the world. We are thinking of building collaborations with French film festivals to promote films that will do well at this festival. The festival will be held on 4, 5 & 6 of December 2015.
